With the 2022-23 NHL® season kicking off, and as an Official Partner of the NHL®, no one is more excited than all of us here at Clutch. We’re amped for the slapshots, wrist shots, and breakaways to get started so we can find out who ends the year on top and takes home the Stanley Cup®.
In preparation for the new hockey season, we’ve compiled a list of the eight sweetest rides owned by NHL® players. Sadly, with P.K. Subban retiring last year, his $2.25M Bugatti Veyron is no longer eligible to make the list, but we still had plenty of options to choose from.

Henrik Lundqvist: Lamborghini Gallardo
When you drive a car as recognizable as a Lamborghini, you’re not afraid of a little attention, and the New York Rangers’ Henrik Lundqvist fits that bill nicely. The goaltender picked up his 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo and immediately made it his own by replacing its emblem to bear his last name.
And with 560 horsepower and a top speed of 320 km/h, this is the perfect specimen to slap your name on.
Steven Stamkos: Fisker Karma
The Fisker Karma was once seen as a potential leader in the electrification charge alongside the Tesla Model S. However, quality issues and low demand eventually ended its run. The model has since returned under the Karma Automotive nameplate, but Tampa Bay’s Steven Stamkos still holds tight to his sleek-looking original Fisker Karma.
This luxurious rig features a 2.0-liter 16-valve hybrid powertrain that zips it to 100 km/h in less than six seconds while sipping fuel at a rate of just 2.2L/100 km combined when in all-electric mode.
Evgeni Malkin: Porsche 911 Turbo
A legendary hockey player like Evgeni Malkin should drive nothing less than a legend in the automotive world. And he does just that in his sweet Porsche 911 Turbo. The 911 has carved its niche in the automotive world, just as Malkin did in the hockey world with the Pittsburgh Penguins.
Malkin’s white 911 Turbo with a black soft top and custom duck-tail spoiler is among the quickest cars in the world, sprinting to 100 km/h in under four seconds.
Tyler Seguin: Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon
Dallas Stars’ center Tyler Seguin has a pretty slick ride too: a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon AMG. According to reports, this rig set him back about $300,000. However, the true cost may be simply fueling this beast, which consumes around 17 litres of fuel per 100 km — it’s definitely no Toyota Prius.
But, with a $6 million per year contract and plenty of job security, this is well within the budget of the 2010 NHL draft’s second-overall pick and then some.
Alex Ovechkin: Mercedes-AMG S65
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class sedan is a sweet enough ride in its own right, but it’s not quite enough for Washington Capitals star Alex Ovechkin. He opted for the AMG-tuned S65 variant. This is not only one of the most luxurious cars on the road, but it also has 621 raging horsepower that launches it to 100 km/h in under four seconds.
This swanky, speedy four-door set the star back about a quarter-million dollars, but that’s not an issue for this well-paid player.
Henrik Lundqvist (again): Bentley Continental GTC Supersport
This top-notch goaltender already made our list with his sweet Lambo, and he’s back with something with a little more class. Meet the Bentley Continental GTC Supersport — the ultimate combination of speed and sophistication.
The massive rig totes around 621 ponies that can sprint it to 100 km/h in under four seconds, making it nearly as quick as his supercar. Keep your foot out of the pedal, and Continental GTC converts into a comfortable cruiser ready for a night out on the town.
Clearly, Lundqvist loves cars just as much as he does shutouts.
Tyler Seguin (again): Maserati GranTurismo S
Tyler Seguin made our list already with his beastly AMG-tuned G-Wagon. No, he’s at it again with a little more sleekness. This is thanks to the sleek and stylish Maserati GranTurismo S. The swanky grand tourer hits the pavement with a 4.7-litre V8 that pumps 433 horsepower through a six-speed automated manual transmission for a sub-five-second 0-100 km/h sprint time.
On top of incredible performance numbers, the GranTurismo S also delivers loads of luxury one would expect from a six-figure Maserati.
Matt Dumba: Ford Bronco
NHL defencemen are generally tough guys that never back down under any circumstances. In the case of Matt Dumba, Minnesota Wild defenceman, his car is like that too. He whips a first-generation Ford Bronco. That’s right, he left the swank behind and got some good old off-roading muscle.
With its snarling 4.9-litre V8 and massive off-road capability, Matt Dumba’s Bronco will back down from a challenge just about as easily as its owner.
